About Dax

Hello there, A few weeks ago I was going to run errands, when I noticed an old man and his dog sitting outside of the store entrance. I made a comment on how cute his dog was. Then the man and I got to talking and he let me know that he was trying to find a home for the dog, because he just found out that the he had cancer and has no family to care for his loved dog. He said that this was his last resort before he'd have to take him to the shelter. I agreed to take in the little dog in order to find him a forever home. The man cried and they said goodbye. It was the saddest thing I've ever seen. I have had sweet little Dax for about two weeks now, I wanted to give him some time to adjust before I started looking for his new home and get to know him a little better so I can find the perfect home. He is about one year old, seems to be a Boston Terrier and maybe a Chihuahua mix. He is extremely sweet, gets along great with other dogs (I'm not sure about cats, but I couldn't see them being a problem at all), loves cars rides, wonderful with children and walks very well on a leash. You must be consistent with taking him out on a schedule to use the potty or otherwise he will use the bathroom in the house if not taken out. He is UTD on rabies shots, he is microchipped and he is neutered. I just got his nails clipped also. He loves to sleep in the bed with you and is the perfect lap dog, who would also make a great hiking companion. He also loves to play fetch!! His adoption fee is $100. We will not adopt him out to just anyone! So please include in your FIRST email a bit about yourself and the home you can provide for him. We will ask for vet references and a home check is possible.
