About Chinook

Adoption Fee: $150
Alaskan Malamute
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Chinook is a beautiful, beautiful boy of approx 1-2 years old. The vet believes is a pure breed Alaskan Malamute. He weighs 75 pounds & still gaining weight due to him being underweight when he was rescued from running on the street. No owner ever came forward for him so he was fully vetted & is now up for adoption. He is dog friendly but has not been tested with cats so we discourage anyone with cats at this time. Chinook is good with adults and teenagers so we have to recommend older children due to him being so large, and at times, overly friendly & could accidentally knock down younger children. He requires a large fenced in yard because Chinook will run & escape if not watched, as is typical for this breed. An owner knowledgeable with the breed would be the best fit for this dog. He does require daily brushing as he has a lot of fur! Chinook is learning commands and will sit for a treat and takes it gently. He has no food aggression. So far he has done well left unattended in the home with no problems as long as he has toys to chew on. He does not like the kennel and will howl! Chinook is up to date on all vaccines, Heartworm negative, microchipped & neutered. He is all ready for his forever home! Streethearts Animal Rescue always strives to find the very best homes for our rescue dogs, fitting them to the right potential new owner. We take care of all their vetting & medical needs prior to being available for adoption. The breed we post is most often pure speculation from the dog's appearance & could not be truly identified with accuracy without a DNA test. We operate from donations only & always welcome any financial help anyone can offer to assist with the care of these misplaced dogs needs.
