About Charlie

It's with a heavy heart that I write this post but it's a decision that unfortunately had to be made. We have come to the decision that while we love and care for Charlie that we simply cannot provide him with all that he needs to enjoy a fulfilling life. He needs so much more attention and dedication than we can currently provide him. He needs a yard to run and play and feel free. Something that neither of us can really provide. He has been well taken care of in the meantime and I wouldn't go back and change the path we took him on. We rescued him and nurtured him but simply have to make the tough decision to try and give him to a better home. He is a good and sweet boy and it really hurts to have to make this decision. For the particulars: He is a Border Collie mix.~7 months old. ~50 lbs. He is up-to-date on all of his shots. He was de-wormed early on, he was not being well taken care of at all by the place we rescued him from. He knows sit and lay as well as several random commands/key phrases. He could definitely use a lot more attention when it comes to obedience and jumping but he is a good boy. He is pretty good about house-training and has only had excitement accidents in recent months. He is also pretty good about being in the kennel but sometimes will announce his displeasure with it. He could also use more dedication to leash control. He is extremely high energy given his Border Collie side and loves to run around and play. It's all a process and one that we simply don't have the ability to be as dedicated as we need to be with him. It hurts everyday not to be able to provide him what he needs but I am glad that we were at least able to provide him with a safe haven. We want to give him to a good home and will wait as long as it takes to do that. So if you know someone who might be interested and able to provide that we'd love to talk with them.
