About Scrappy

Scrappy will be released to a rescue or trainer only! Scrappy is in our shelter for killing a neighbors dog while running at large with another Pit Bull.They got into the other dog's yard and tore him apart. It was a heeler. He was picked up and held for court and his owner did not appear for court and seems to have abandoned him. Scrappy is 7-9 yrs old, not neutered, but healthy. He is very pleasant to be around, has never shown any aggression since he's been here. He lived in a family with small kids, and was never aggressive toward a human while running at large. Strangely he LIKES cats and wont hurt them. He is not bothered by the other dogs that pass his kennel and has never shown animal aggression since being here. He WAS caught in the act of killing the other dog though while running loose. He is submissive when he thinks he's in trouble and has possibly been beaten in the past. If a rescue can not step up and take him, and I know most are full, I can not adopt him out. A professional trainer could also adopt him. To a rescue there will be no fee for adoption and I will help with transport as much as possible.
