Seeking another playful dog, kids over age 7, and a good sized fenced yard. Preference will be given to adopters who can offer this kind of environment for Tenzin. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Say hello to the wonderful Tenzin! This guy is just a really sweet dog. He is playful and submissive. He loves couch time, toys, other dogs and people. Tenzin came to us from a rural shelter where he was not reclaimed. We can't imagine why! He was already crate trained (though not 100% housebroken) when he arrived. He's clearly grown up indoors because indoorsy things don't startle him. He even did fabulous in his bath and seemed to enjoy the attention of having mats trimmed out of his coat. Tenzin loves the outdoors and would enjoy life with an outdoorsy/active family. We can see him thoroughly enjoying long hikes in the woods (even though he's not a high energy dog). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- We were looking at dog breed photos and he resembles a Labradoodle with a Fleece type coat. He's got longer hair like a Wheaten but it's not as soft as a Wheaten. No undercoat and his hair is longer and wavy. Shedding is minor, but he does shed so if you're allergic he's not for you. He's completely adorable in person. We can't seem to get fantastic photos because he is not a fan of the camera. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- He is moderately active and relatively quiet for the most part but will occasionally bark when excited or at wildlife outdoors (which we have in abundance here). He will need a bit of housebreaking work to settle into his new home. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are no children here to test him with but we haven't seen any behaviors that are concerning around adult humans. We'll go with age 8 and up as a recommendation for families with kids. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- We did our first cat test and it went ok but he seemed a bit tense, so we will have to test further to determine his cat compatibility. (Update: 2nd cat test went ok. If your cat has a place to escape too, it could work IF your cat likes dogs.) If you have a dog, he is best matched up to other dogs that are playful and not dominant so his sparkle can shine! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tenzin can occasionally want to get into or chew things, so if you have lots of clutter around your house he's probably not a good fit for you. You don't need an immaculate home (our standards are not THAT high lol), but a normal-lived in but not jam packed home is probably more suitable. He's a clumsy, goofy, bouncy boy who needs room to play, and he's not above bouncing around on the furniture either. So if dog-on-the-furniture is a no-no at your place, then we'll have to say no-no to you as a match. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tenzin has been neutered, vaccinated, 4DX tested negative, wormed, and received flea treatment. He is about 9-12 months and currently weighs 40 lb, but is thin. We think he will fill out and look his best somewhere at around 50 lb. Update: He's starting to fill out in foster care. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tenzin is a mutt. We are getting a lot of inquiries from adopters who seem to be more interested in his coat than in Tenzin. Preference will be given to adopters who care more about his personality, temperament, and individual needs than his looks. We have not yet found the right fit for him. We think he'd feel his ideal home is another playful submissive dog, a fenced yard, and a family with older children. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ADOPTION APPLICATION: copy and paste this link into your browser: http://form.jotform.us/form/41555257797165
