About Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea is a 6 month old pup that was adopted very young (12 weeks or so) from Blackhat Humane Society back in September and returned in January -- the reason given being interaction with cats. She is a total sweetheart and seems to love all humans--young and old. She lacks basic obedience training, but has proven herself to be very attentive and smart and is learning quickly. She is potty trained and immediately understood the concept of the dog door in her new home. We are currently working on crate training her. She is wonderful off-leash and very responsive Her interactions with other dogs seem to be good. She is appropriately submissive at first, but quickly warms up. I would caution against pairing her with another alpha female as her tendencies once she warms up lean toward wanting to be the dominant one, and I would expect this to become more so as she ages. She is still a high energy puppy and potential adopters need to have a heads-up approach to what adopting a young dog means. She has a very slight and athletic build and will likely top out somewhere around 40 lbs or less. An applicant and home check is required.
