About Koa

Adoption Fee: $175
Rat Terrier mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Koa means 'brave' in Hawaiian, and New Rattitude's Koa is certainly one brave little pup. To this almost 4-month-old Rat Terrier, the whole world is his friend...or his plaything. He is your normal playful, sometimes mischievous, and always loving puppy. He is 10 lbs. of energy--enough to chase the other dogs in his foster home and fetch toys for a couple of hours before crashing for a nap. One of his favorite things is just being outdoors on a nice day. He would love a fenced yard where he could run and romp to his heart's content. True to his name, Koa shows absolutely no fear of larger dogs and will attempt to engage them in play by pulling on their collars. He also loves to play with children (with everyone, in fact) and would be great in a home with kids old enough to know how to play with a pup and how to tolerate exuberant puppy play. Koa's sturdy paws suggest that he might have had a non-Rattie ancestor (or perhaps he just has great things to accomplish in this world) and that he is likely to grow to an adult size in the 20-lb. range. Koa is still working on his house-training, and he's making excellent progress in learning to go outside or using his training pad. He sleeps through the night in his dog crate. However, he is an early riser and will wake you up in the morning letting you know it's time for him to go out. Confident Koa thinks that if you see his photo album at http://imageevent.com/newrattitude/Koa, you'll be instantly smitten by the desire to snuggle him in your arms. Are you brave enough to look? Go ahead...take a chance! ------------------------------------------------------ IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING KOA, please go to new Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.
