About Kuma

Kuma was finally caught after roaming alone in a park for 6 days. He is a 1.5 year old White Shepherd weighing 83 pounds but can easily get up to 90 pounds. He is not neutered yet, but will be-before going to a new home. He's a very sweet boy who is shy with new people at first but warms up very quickly, especially if he realizes you don't mean any harm. He loves children (however we do require family with children to be dog savvy as he is a large breed. example: no grabbing/pulling tails, trying to climb on top of him...) and does great with his current foster's small dog. When Kuma first arrived at his foster's, he was suffering from giardia, roundworms, and demodex mange. All those have been treated and he's on his way to a brighter life! He does take a little longer to warm up to adult males than women but is a very sweet boy regardless. He is 100% house broken. Kuma would love a family who is fairly active (2-3 walks a day at least) and a yard. He is definitely loving being an indoor dog and we would prefer he goes to a home where he is outdoors for play time + potty breaks. He responds to corrections well and has a mellow and sweet demeanor for a dog his age.
