About Candy

Introducing pretty little Candy, a 5 year old Chihuahua, who weighs 7 pounds. She came to us from a hoarder situation where she spent her life in a rabbit hutch, with little human interaction. Because of her prior life, Candy is slowly learning how to be a beloved family member. She is learning that human touch is a good thing, and not to be feared. Candy's new family will need to understand this, and have lots of patience and allow her to come out of her shell at her pace. Candy is heartworm negative and microchipped. Housebreaking was not something she had to learn since she was living in a cage, she is working on it, and doing well. She's also being taught about walking on a leash. Candy loves other dogs, and we feel she needs to go to a home with other dogs, as she gains confidence from them. She also does fine with cats. She is a very smart and curious dog. Because of her fear, she would not be suitable in a home with young children. Candy will also need a home that has a fenced yard. We believe with time, patience and TLC, Candy will be a wonderful pet.
