About Dixie

Dixie is a smart, high-energy dog who loves to play and is very affectionate. We've had her since she was six weeks old and she will be 2 years old in May. We are looking for a good home for her now because we have a newborn and we don't have the time/energy to devote to her as she requires daily mental and physical exercise. Also, because she is an excitable, powerful dog and has an instinct to herd or nip, we don't recommend that she go to a home with kids. We've invested in training for her and she shows a lot of potential but she will need continued, consistent training. She'll do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who knows how to assert calm leadership and boundaries with her. Ideally, she should go to a home without other dogs where she can receive all of the attention (although she does like to play with other dogs at the Dog Park or doggie daycare). Her absolute favorite activity is playing ball and she prefers play over anything else in life!
