Work has me moving from Tacoma to D.C. and I need to find a new home for my dog, Shadow. He's a mutt -Shepard and Husky mix, 7 years old, raised as an outdoor dog, really sweet, around 50lbs, fixed, has cohabitated with one other dog before and one cat -did fine but could be a bit shy, and super super smart. Has always been fine around my niece when she was 2/3, but he can sometimes bump into a kid. Walks well enough but he will test you and pull a bit if you're new. Loves playing catch but will hide the ball from you when he's done. Hides from fireworks. He is part husky so the boy sheds. Thinks he is a lap dog too, so you sit down and he will curl in your lap. If you have a decent bit of land, you can walk hiim along the boundaries a few times and even if you don't put a leash on him or put him up in a kennel, he'll always come home. I was ideally looking for someone who either had some space he could run around and/or had the time to make sure he just got enough attention and a walk everyday. I've had him since 8 weeks old but it's just not fair to him attention-wise with me being gone. Just looking for someone to love him and give him a good home. Would love to hear from you if you are intersted, with a bit about yourself as well. Fee was recommended to screen out people who would not be able to afford a pet, but my main concern is just getting him someone who will love and take care of him. Your fee would go to Rescue me to help other animals.
