About Leia

Leia is a 38 pound, 6 year old mixed breed pup who loves her people and enjoys walks and hikes. She's a bit of a loner, and we feel she would do best as an only dog in her home, although she is perfectly fine meeting other dogs outside of her home. She's lived with cats and done very well with them, and she might be alright with high school aged children, but no small kids for Leia. She much prefers a calm and quiet house. Leia is house trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. She's been trained to an E Collar with Vermont Dog Pack, and the trainer at Vermont Dog Pack is willing to give a free lesson to Leia's new owners, so they can learn how to use the E Collar in a safe and constructive way. Leia is perfectly content to lounge around the house during the day. She is a medium to low energy girl, so she's good to rest and she's good to play when the time comes. Leia takes time to get comfortable with strangers, but we are confident that an confident dog owner would be able to help Leia overcome some of these fears. She has participated in pack walks at VT dog Pack and done very well with everyone she meets. Rhonda says she is one of her best students! She's a very friendly, affectionate, eager to please girl who just needs a few boundaries and some structure from someone so that the she learns she doesn't have to be the house guard dog! She's not overly vocal, but she will bark at strangers. Leia may take a little time to get comfortable and adjusted in her new home, but we know she will make a wonderful companion!
