About Mia

Adoption Fee: $350.00
Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

The name Mia, has two meanings, 'beloved' and 'my'or 'mine.' Mia is a 40lb 17 month-old female Terrier mix. She is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. Mia is housetrained and crate trained. She was fine being left in the crate when her person was out, but she has slowly been trusted with free run of the house. She is currently left for up to 6 hours home alone without incident. Mia is affectionate, eager to please, joyful, playful, well-behaved and puppy-like. She knows 'Sit' and 'Down,' and is learning, 'Wait' and 'Come.' Mia loves to chase balls and will even bring them back . . . but, she would rather not let them go to be thrown, again! Mia walks well on leash. She now walks with a 'Halti' lead. Mia loves walks. She whines a little at first because she is so happy and excited. Mia is smart and responsive with a strong desire to please. She attends Upbeat K9 to work on dog socialization and learn how to play. She has done very well and would benefit from continued training in this program or other obedience training and regular work with her adopter to build on her skills and develop a trusting bond. Mia currently lives with one other dog. After a slow, five-day introduction, they get along well together. Mia has not met any cats. She doesn't live with children, but she has spent time with her foster mom's 8-year-old grandson and was fine with him. She is initially excited to meet new people, but will sit and receive pats when given the opportunity. Mia's high energy, intelligence and willingness to please, will make someone a loyal hiking or running partner. Mia is not all, go-go-go, she has a quiet cuddly side too. When you are ready to kick back on the couch and chill, Mia is, too. In fact her favorite place to snuggle is on the couch, with her head resting in your lap. What could be better than that? Mia wants someone to call her 'my beloved.' We bet she will have you singing, 'Mamma Mia! Here I go again, my-my how can I resist ya?'
