About Marmaduke

Marmaduke is an abandoned and forgotten dog from Groveton , Texas. An owner surrender that lived on a chain his short life of 1 1/2 yrs.. The owner didn't want him anymore because he slobbered. When I picked him up he was flea infested, wormy and had hair loss and very thin. I didn't get his name because I can't speak Spanish. I was picking up this poor dog on my birthday I thought since it was a day of new beginnings for this poor boy I figured he could use a new start with a new name....so I named him Marmaduke because he is a happy go lucky boy full of energy. I Got him to the kennels and I vaccinated, dewormed and sprayed him for fleas. It wasn't long his coat started filling in and he was feeling good. A rescue wanted him so he went to a foster in Houston about that time the storm Harvey hit. Which was bad news for Marmaduke. The fosters home flooded and she had no choice but to turn him into the NRG center. He bounced around from location to location from MCAS then back to the NRG center. A rescue tagged him but for some reason no follow through. We able to get him back to Groveton. I have been fostering him at my home because he was not in good shape. He is back to his to his happy go lucky self full of energy and loving life just wanting to run and play. Marmaduke loves people. He gets along with all dogs any size. He has never been cat tested. He is Ok on a leash; needs a strong handler and lessons in manners. We tried to contact the rescue that tagged him but they never have responded. We want this new year to be a new beginning for Marmaduke ....to find his own family that will love him never give up on him.
