ABOUT ME: Andy is the best Boerboel boy in town! This wonderful 5.5 year old guy is super easy-going and just as easy to love! Our vet said he was one of the well-mannered Mastiffs he's ever met! Andy came to us when his owner became too ill to care for him, and he's really been missing his family. We promised Andy that we'd find him a great new home and that he'd never have to be without his people again! WHAT I NEED IN A HOME: Like most Boerboels, Andy can be shy and standoffish around strangers. However, once you become acquainted, he never wants to leave your side. He's a very mellow boy that enjoys hanging out with the family and taking naps. Andy lived in a home with older children and dogs of all sizes, and since he doesn't seem to care about the barn cats, we think Andy would do well in a wide variety of household environments. Understandably, Andy is displaying a little anxiety about being away from people. He's not destructive at all, but he will whine a bit when he can't be around his humans. We know that he just needs the right family to help him gain confidence that he'll never be left again. THE DETAILS: Andy is housebroken, knows basic obedience and how to use a dog door, and is working on his leash skills. Andy is vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative and microchipped. Fill out our Adoption Application, located at bullpenrescue.org under the 'work with us' tab. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. The adoption app is available on our website (www.bullpenrescue.org) under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle, since this will help us determine if the dog you are interested in is a good match. Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a 'perfect placement' so we know that they will not be failed again.
