Ziggy is an affectionate goofball who will lick your face for hours if you let her. She is a 2 year old lab mix and weighs about 52 lbs. She is loving, playful, and fiercely loyal to humans and dogs that she trusts. She has mellow energy around the house - she loves to play and make occasional adorable howling noises, but spends most of the day lounging and sleeping so long as she gets a moderate amount of exercise. She is totally housebroken, and very comfortable staying at home by herself. She gets along well with almost all dogs if she can meet them in a neutral environment - she has tons of doggie friends at West LA Dogs and The Zen Dog, where she plays regularly. She is in excellent physical health. Ziggy would be happiest in a home where she could get most of her exercise playing in a backyard with a doggie sibling, and with humans who are able to provide a calm, structured environment with clear boundaries. She struggles with leash reactivity on walks, although she has made significant progress with help from the great trainers at The Zen Dog. She also has some protective issues with her current humans, occasionally exhibiting fear aggression towards some dogs or strange men when in the presence of her owners. Ziggy has been in a loving home for the past two years, but her behavioral challenges are a bad match with her current living environment, so she needs a new home, preferably with a backyard and a doggie sibling, where she can thrive. Her current owners can provide more detailed information about Ziggy, and are willing to pay for an initial training session for her new owners with The Zen Dog, who have been wonderful and effective trainers for Ziggy.
