About Duke

Mr Duke is approximately a year and a half old, he is very loving, doesn't realize his size and thinks he can lay on anyone's lap. A friend asked us to watch over Duke for a few months until she could find a new place to rent. A few months turned into a year and we need to find an AMAZING forever home for him. We're very sad to see him go, but our living situation is changing soon. Duke was crate trained and now refuses to be in his when we're gone, he would rather be outside which is not ideal when it's rainy and cold so much. He likes his dog house under the covered porch. Duke sleeps all night long on a blanket next to our bed or on his bed in living room. He use to chew up shoes, but he has seemed to out grow that... He still likes to drag towels around thou. Duke knows how to sit, shake and lay down with a treat or if he thinks you have something he wants. He could use some training and still gets amped up when new people come over, jumping and barking etc. if you've been over about 5 times and he knows you he doesn't care about you anymore. Duke loves talking and will talk to you when he wants outside or more water. He is relentless until you follow him to where or what he wants. He is kinda slobbery too, I wipe his face after he drinks and he sits still to have his feet wiped when he comes in from outside. He has to have a harnesss on to walk him, he still needs work on this. He is a good dog, he needs someone who can take the time to spend more quality time with him. He is a great animal. We will be very sad to see him go. I would like him to go to home with people who have big dog experience, preferably this breed. They're cool to want, but they're a lot of work and a lot of money to feed and for the vet.
