About Max

Adoption Fee: $100
Dachshund / Feist
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Max appears destined to be a forgotten puppy. He has been maturing since his arrival in Aug 2017 when just a tiny pup. Not only has Max been overlooked, his brother Jerry(his twin) also continues to wait by their kennel gates to be noticed. Those coming to the shelter with thoughts of adding a puppy to their family at this holiday season have no interest in these tweenage boys. At 8 months old (as of Jan 2018) Max struggles to keep his hope alive that someone will want him. He looks at every visitor with a hopeful heart that maybe, just maybe this could be the one(s). Max and his brother were trapped in a drainpipe when they were little guys. There was no mother in sight and they were also slowly starving to death. Fortunate to be found and rescued, Max and Jerry came to the shelter when 10 weeks old. When in his kennel and initially taken from it, Max is so excited that his spinning and jumping can lead one to believe he is something of a wild child. So far from the truth. He is just excited and it takes some time and a good energetic walk to allow him to settle into the sweet boy that lies hidden beneath the uber-active persona. He has been spending time in a local home to acclimate to living in a house and the expectations that come with living as a family member. He is reported to be a delight and a bigtime snugglebug. Plays nicely with the household dogs. Max is just a puppy...a puppy that yearns to be noticed and chosen. His adoption fee is $100. He is neutered, fully vaccinated and tested free of heartworms. Additional photo in Comments.
