About Rusty

Arrival date: July 16, 2017 1 1/2 years old at intake Rusty is a cattle dog mix chock full of speckles added to brindle striping through his rusty brown patches. Friendly and calm. He came in neutered. He loves activity and companionship. He does not like living in a kennel and greets visitors with a wagging stub of a tail in hopes they will notice him and fall in love. Adoption of all dogs/cats requires an approval process to ensure that they are going into a home appropriate for their needs and that will keep them safe. Each is loved and nurtured by our staff and volunteers during their stay with us and each is placed with same due diligence that they would be given if they were our own furry family members. The approval process can take from 1 to 3 days. All approved adopters must accompany their new family member on the journey home. We do not ship nor transport. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter which provides quality care, spay/neuter-all vaccines, deworming, vet exam, standard disease testing and for dogs-monthly heart worm prevention treatment. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Adoption hours are Tues-Sat 10-4 and Sun 1-4.
