It's with a heavy heart, we must re-home our Maya. She's a 5 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix. Female, and is in great health and has been very well taken care of. She's been a huge protector, night time cuddler, and companion for us and our home, but we've recently welcomed a baby and a new puppy and it seems to just be too much for her to handle. She's very loving, potty trained (doggy door), will cuddle you all night long, and will alert you when anyone may come near your home. I often let her sleep in the living room when my husband travels, because she's so good at listening for any noises close by to our home. She's made me feel so secure, and is a great companion for a loving adult. She is well adjusted to being on her own, and just requires someone who can give her the attention she deserves. She's not so great with very excited/younger children, and not other animals. She's from a line of lion hunting dogs, so may be great out in the woods or in the farm, although she's been accustomed to be an inside dog. We are willing to rehome her to the right family, and can help in providing a collar, leash, and food.
