5/14/18 Nikita is a 6 month old Belgian Malinois mix, about 35 pounds. She is a high drive breed that requires a solid fenced yard, a doggie play buddy with the same play style and an adopter that is dedicated to 4+ hours of exercise/mental stimulation a day! She is not a dog for a novice owner and she prefers females. If you do not match these qualifications, your application will not be considered. A Malinois is not / nor like a german shepherd. They are different breeds with different personality traits. Please research the breed before applying. 3/18/18 Miss Nikita is doing so well! She is a natural on leash walks! She loves to see the leash come out and is always ready even though she know it takes her out of her comfort zone. Our walks is when she is happiest, and notably the calmest. Lol. Her other happy place is enticing Mack to play, which she does none stop till I give him a break or bedtime. Haha she's a happy beautiful girl. UPDATE: 3/4/18 Nikita getting some much needed kid socialization. She is now 18 weeks and plays ball for a solid two hours a day. Nikita is a 4 month old female Belgian Malinois. She weighs about 20 pounds. She can be pretty noisy at times and very, very playful. We would like an adopter who has experience with the malinois breed. She will need a fenced yard and it would be best if she had another dog to play with. She is very smart and will need an adopter who is willing to do dog sports or agility with her. Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. For a list of scheduled events go to: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/events .
