About Lexi

Mastiff mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Lexi ABOUT ME: Lexi is a fabulous 3.5 year old English Mastiff girl that came to us when her owner became too ill to care for her. Turns out that Ms. L wasn't feeling too hot herself, as she had blown out the knee in one of her back legs. Lexi had orthopedic surgery in October and has been on the mend ever since. She is feeling much better now and is ready to start looking for her forever family! WHAT I NEED IN A HOME: Lexi can sometimes be shy with new people, but once she feels comfortable, she's very loving and affectionate. Sometimes when she gets excited, Lexi forgets her manners and gets mouthy in a playful way. Although she's gotten better with consistent correction, due to this behavior, we think she would do best in a home with older children. Lexi has been living with a male mastiff at her foster home, and after a slow introduction, they've become best friends. We aren't sure how she feels about small dogs or cats, but we think Lexi might be able to cohabitate with the little if she's given some time to get to know them. THE DETAILS: Lexi needs a home that will continue to work with her to build her confidence. is housebroken, crate-trained, knows basic obedience, and has almost perfected walking on a leash! She is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and will be microchipped before going to her forever home. For more information on Lexi or any of our other dogs, please email us at: [email protected]. Ready to give Lexi the forever home of her dreams? Fill out our Adoption Application, located at bullpenrescue.org under the 'work with us' tab. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. The adoption app is available on our website (www.bullpenrescue.org) under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle, since this will help us determine if the dog you are interested in is a good match. Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a 'perfect placement' so we know that they will not be failed again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
