About Caden

NAME - Caden, approximately 27 pounds AGE - 2 years old BREED - Lab mix RESCUE STORY I was found wandering the streets with my two fur friends and a homeless man. A mean individual decided to shoot me at some point in my life and completely shattered my knee making it useless. I was also recently attacked by some sort of animal (most likely another dog), but my wounds are healing nicely. I'm so happy to be off the streets and in a loving home for the first time. I LOVE to be near my foster mom at all times and to be massaged on the couch. My personality is beginning to show, and I like sprinting in the backyard with my foster sibs. I HAVE been neutered and had my back right leg amputated. I haven't had any accidents in my foster home which is amazing because I don't think I've ever been inside before! I GET ALONG WITH humans and other dogs. However, I do get a little intimidated/scared by dogs who constantly bark at me. I NEED a human's touch and love and a warm bed to sleep on. I sometimes sleep with my foster mom and siblings but it can get crowded, so I will jump down on my bed in the middle of the night. I also need a family who will be able to help me learn basic commands like sit, stay, roll, over. etc. I am eager to learn! I AM so incredibly sweet! I am very. very laid back and have only barked once since I've been with my foster family. I am rather submissive and let other pups take the lead. I am doing great with just three legs and can't even remember what it was like with 4! I'm even faster than my foster siblings and they have four legs. My foster mom is so proud of the progress I am making. A PERFECT DAY FOR ME INCLUDES sleeping in with my foster family, eating a nice big breakfast of grilled salmon and veggies, playing in the backyard with my siblings, and then cuddling up for a movie on the couch with my foster mom while she pets me (I sometimes fall asleep before the movie is over because the petting is so super nice). I PREFER NOT TO have other dogs bark at me or act aggressive because when I was out on my own, that meant trouble and trouble scares me. I also prefer not to ride in a car for long periods of time. It makes me a little nervous and I have trouble relaxing. IF YOUR FAMILY prefers a low-energy, laid back pup who loves to be kissed, hugged, and spoiled then I am perfect for you! Caden has finished his antibiotics and is on the road to recovery from his amputation, neuter, and animal attack wounds. He sleeps very well in the room with his foster family whether it be in the bed or on his dog bed on the floor. He spent one night in a crate and seemed to do fine, but prefers to hang out on the couch when his foster mom is gone. He has not had any accidents nor has he chewed on furniture, shoes, etc. Caden's adoption fee is $175. This includes his deworming, dhpp and rabies vaccines, flea and tick preventive (through date of adoption), heartworm preventive (through date of adoption), neuter, and microchip.
