About Brandi

Brandi is available for foster or adoption. We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families! Brandi is currently fostered in Bradenton, FL (Manatee County). Brandi is a 2-year-old husky x Shepherd mix of around 50 lbs. She was returned to us after 2 years due to her owner moving - no fault of her own! She is very skilled in leash walking. She is just learning how to play with other dogs since she had been an only child, and learning about limitations and body space while playing. She really needs to be with other dogs her size for full-out play until she learns how to space herself with littles. Her foster also sees a tendency-for drive-bys during rough play, so little adjustments and corrections are all that is needed and she listens very well. She is actually learning about being off leash and having the freedom to play loose since she lived in a trailer park previously and was not given much freedom. Brandi took about a week to settle in in her new foster home. She is somewhat of a picky eater. She is crate trained and puts herself to bed. She needs a family that will take her places, a yard with a fence to run in, and some other large, playful dogs to run and play with. She has finally learned that you can run, chase and conquer a ball! She is a great dog for an active person - biking, hiking, jogging companion all come to mind. She is very attentive to her people. Not a barker, needs to get out and have some social life. Overall she is becoming a great dog! Very obedient and attentive! She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped and heartworm negative.
