About Demi

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Hi future family! My name is Demi, and if you are looking for a devoted, tender and loving BFF to be by your side through all of life's adventures, I am the big girl for you! I am a 2-year-old, 65-pound Shepherd mix, and I am as sweet and as beautiful as they come! I have velvety soft black-and-tan fur, and my expressive, soulful eyes are always looking in the direction of my favorite people so you can always know how much I love you! But as gorgeous as I am on the outside, my personality really is my best feature! My Fetching Tails friends met me at Chicago Animal Care and Control, where I was being surrendered by my previous family along with my buddy Mack and son Pedro. Thankfully, foster homes stepped up for us and we all made our way to FTF. I have been soaking up the cuddles and attention in my foster home, and cannot wait to find my real forever family! I can be a little demure at first when I meet new people but once I know we are going to be friends, I am attached to you like velcro in no time! I bond quickly to my people and prefer to be near them as much as possible so I would do great in a home where my family is home more often than not. I love to follow my foster mommy around wherever she goes in the house so I can be ready for an impromptu cuddle and nap. I get along well with other doggies and even kitty cats so I would be a great addition to any household! I also previously lived with human kiddos and was good with them, too! When I think of my forever home, I would love to have a fenced yard because I enjoy playing zoomies and romping around the yard with my foster mommy and canine foster brother Finton! I also enjoy dancing with my foster mommy when she puts music on: she replaces most words with my name and I put on the biggest grin and tap my tail along with the beat. But if I am being totally honest, I am happiest when I get to be a couch potato with you; nothing makes me happier than curling up and helping my foster parents stay comfy on the couch by offering my torso as their pillow so we can unwind together after a long day! I know it might sound like bragging, but I also have pretty great manners, too! I am potty trained and am gentle and sweet when enjoying treats from my foster parents. I do not like to be crated, and bark when I miss my humans while they arent home so I would prefer a single family home as opposed to a townhouse or condo with shared walls between the neighbors. I also get spooked by loud noises sometimes and want to retreat to a quiet place, so a calmer house would be ideal for me. My confidence is a work in progress, but I have been making great strides thanks to my foster parents and friends at FTF! I get to go to doggie daycare while my foster parents are at work and it is SO much fun! My fosters have taken me on many fun adventures so I can experience the big, wide world around me and I am really coming out of my shell! I hope for a patient family that will continue to help me gain confidence and be the self-assured girl I am meant to be! I am loving and kind, and my foster mommy tells me all the time I am angelic; could I be the sweet angel doggie for you?
