About Ash-ADOPTION PENDING

Border Collie / Australian Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

The very first thing our rescuer noticed about Ash were his gorgeous eyes in the dim high-kill shelter light. Ash's eyes are amazing...two different colors - they lend a beauty to his face that caught the attention of his rescuer. She stared at Ash for a bit (while he gently, and so sweetly touched her hand with his nose) and she saw all the wonderful possibilities in this very beautiful Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. This photo definitely doesn't do this exceptional guy justice! A spa day is in order - underneath the shelter dust is a sweet and very stunning Border Collie mix. Ash immediately makes it clear that he's a LOVE! His adorable little face seems to smile when he gets loving attention and kind strokes...and then a wag and his beautiful head is in your lap. Ash was brought out of his cage.. and before you know it, he was gently loving up our rescuer. Ash was immediately so joyful and clearly delighted with the turn his life had just taken! Ash was removed from the shelter and began his education in a foster home that fell in love with Ash's sweetness and engaging personality on the very first day. This 12 month old, approximately 30 lb cutie-pie truly lights up when he feels like he's done a good job... some serious belly rubs and kind words will send him over the moon. Ash wants desperately to be a family guy...he would have the time of his life in a very active home with kids and a gentle and fun, like-sized canine best friend. We feel that Astro would do very well with either active retirees who enjoy getting out on a long hike or even a run to fulfill the exercise and mental needs of Ash's silly and fun personality. A dog-crazy younger family with kids would also be a great fit for Ash. He loves people of all ages and shows his devotion in very positive ways. Once Astro's exercise needs have been met...he's an all-time smuggler. He'd love nothing more at the end of the day than to cuddle up on the couch (or bed) with his favorite people and show his loving devotion. Ash would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his people. We wouldn't want him to be left alone for long hours waiting for his family to arrive home in the evening.. 4 or so hours at a time are fine..but an entire day is just too long for an active and sensitive pup. Ash has a beautiful coat that was ignored in his earlier life. To make it the gorgeous coat that speaks of his breed mix, Ash will require a commitment to periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep his coat cottony- soft and matt free. Ash will not be neutered when he arrives in Denver - while we request it, there aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of Kansas. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Ash's neuter and microchip immediately after his arrival in Colorado if our Denver vet is used. Ash will be arriving on transport in Denver on Thursday 1/4/18. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this sweet and cuddly best friend, please fill out and return to [email protected], fax to 303-443-7730 or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302. PLEASE NOTE: If you're truly interested in adopting Ash, please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving guy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
