About Greek Tortoise

Reptile/Amphibian
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

I have a Greek Spur Thigh Tortoise that I have had for over 20+ years ( I do have his papers from when I bought him from a pet store with the exact date on it) He seemed to be an adult at the time, maybe young or older who knows, it was at a time when reptiles were coming into the states from other countries, but was full grown. I got him because I felt sorry for him in the conditions he was being kept. At the time I was employed by an animal hospital and knew this poor tortoise was doomed if someone didn't buy him soon. So here it is several years later. He has been a wonderful guy. Problem is I am disabled now and can't give him the extra care I have before, taking him outside, letting him run loose in the house, taking him with me when I go places, that kind of stuff. I did buy him a large tortoise habitat but still hurts me that he can't get out as much. I don't just want to give him to anyone who thinks he is 'neat'. How long will that last. Most of my days are worst than better anymore and I am afraid when I go what will happen to Leo. No one in my family is interested in having him or even know how to care for him if I die. He will end up at the Denver Dumb Friends League, no place for a Tortoise) He dose have a special need, can talk about if your interested (nothing hard to maintain)
