About Junebug

Adoption Fee: $300
Mastiff
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Junebug is a 4 year old AKC reg blue brindle Cane Corso. She is 115 pounds of love and sweetness. She is fully vetted, HW negative, spayed and microchipped. She is housebroken. Surrendered b/c the owner could not keep her within the fence. It was a picket fence which could not begin to hold this girl. A secure 6 foot fenced yard will be required to adopt Junebug. She is in recovery from surgery on Dec 23 which involved placement of a prosthetic tendon in one leg. She has arthritis in the knee of opposite leg. June is gentle as a lamb with everyone she has encountered. She will be out of initial recovery on Jan 6 but will need supervision to prevent her from standing on her rear legs and engaging in activity which could affect the procedure and also create pain. She would do best as an only dog to prevent further pain and injury. Also the ideal home would have no steps. Her hips are good. The previous owner had her since she was 8 wks old. Adoption fee is $300. An appointment is required to meet Junebug as she is in an offsite home. Junebug arrived in Dec 2017. Application can be submitted online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application/ or at the shelter. Adoption of all dogs/cats requires an approval process to ensure that they are going into a home appropriate for their needs and that will keep them safe. Each is loved and nurtured by our staff and volunteers during their stay with us and each is placed with same due diligence that they would be given if they were our own family members. Adoption policies and application procedures are at the shelter website: http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. The process generally takes 1 to 3 days. Read the policies to adopt before applying as much is explained there. All approved adopters must accompany their new family member on the journey home. We do not ship nor do we transport. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter which provides quality care, spay/neuter-all vaccines, deworming, vet exam, standard disease testing and for dogs-monthly heart worm prevention treatment. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Adoption hours are Tues-Sat 10-4 and Sun 1-4.
