Gatita is 12 years old and a retired show cat who placed #1 in her younger years. She needs a home without other pets. She is very loving and likes to be around you all of the time. She will greet you when you come home and hop in the bed for a while when you go to sleep. My husband brought 2 rescue pups home in 2014 and she gets along fine with them but even so, we believe that she is not happy sharing her home with them. She started defecating outside her litter box after we brought the pups home and since then it has gotten worse where she will do that in the kitchen, bedroom, etc. She started urinating outside of her litter box a couple of weeks ago so we were forced to set her up in the basement. Since we've done that she hasn't urinated outside the box once (so it wasn't due to an infection) and she has been defecating in the box in the morning, but still goes outside of the box after that. The sad conclusion is that she really doesn't like the pups. We can't leave her in the basement anymore because we can't spend as much time with her down there and although she is still being good down there she has started meowing more to come upstairs and we won't do that because she will go back to her old ways. We took her to 2 different vets in the last year to try and correct her problem, but they couldn't find any issues other than that her teeth need cleaning. We would love to see her go to someone who can pay lots of attention to her and give her a good home where she is loved and rules the roost.
