About Indiana Bones

Adoption Fee: $295
Australian Cattle Dog mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Indiana Bones (aka Indy) Terrier Mix 8 weeks/9 lbs Indy is a cute stocky fella with an easy going personality. He came from Tennessee with 6 other siblings a couple of weeks ago and was taken to a foster home with 2 of them. This gave him the opportunity to relax and show his sweeter side. He gets along with other dogs, including big dogs, and LOVES to be around people. Indy will gladly play tug with you and delights in being scooped up and giving kisses. He is an affectionate dog that is fond of nuzzling his nose between your neck and shoulder. While he will happily play with others, he is also content to go off on his own to chew on his dog toys. Indy is still a puppy and likes to carry things around in his mouth, but is learning to respond to the word 'no'. Indy is the laziest of his siblings. After some play time, he wants nothing more than to find his dog bed and curl up for a long winter's nap. He can sleep through a lot of noises and takes his sweet time waking up. Once awake, he will sit patiently while his siblings climb all around him until someone picks him up. Indy is learning to go to the door, but still has accidents in the house. Since he is so young, he will need to be let out frequently. He is a smart boy and already knows 'sit'. He loves food and will be easy to train with food as a motivation. He is crate trained and will contentedly sleep in there as long as there is something to lay on. He really prefers a dog bed and will even go there on his own when he wants to chew a toy or take a nap. He mostly sleeps through the night, but will make a ruckus when he needs to go outside. This sweet handsome fella is looking for a place to put his dog bed down in. Do you have a place in your heart for Indy? Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies. Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a 'teen' or adult dog. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
