Happy Jack is a sweet boy. He loves kids, and gets along with our other dogs, and a cat. He's been through an awful lot in his short life. He is 2-3 years old. Last February, I adopted him from a family in Scottsdale, AZ as they were looking for a home in a cooler climate. They adopted him from the Payson Humane Society. He had previously lost an eye to a bobcat or coyote. He ended up having Canine Valley Fever, which we caught very early. He responded well to 6 months of Diflucan. He has now ruptured his right cruciate ligament, and his left appears at risk. He also appears to have early arthritis in his knees. He is currently taking Carprofen, and we are restricting his activity level per the vets recommendation. I cannot afford surgical repair for his knees. I'm hoping to find a new home or rescue with someone who has the financial ability to meet his medical needs. I'm a fairly-new single mother, and my ex is not paying child support. I've taken a few extra jobs to pay for his medical care, but won't be able to pick up enough work to afford to repair his knees. Although Happy Jack gets a lot of love from us, it seems like a poor quality of life for him with the activity restriction. He is very playful, and it's heartbreaking to see his activity so limited. We love Jack, and want the best for him. If you are interested, or know of anyone I can contact please reach out to me. Thank you!
