Do you remember our little calico girl, Abacus from Fort Bragg? She was found as a stray that had wandered into a feral colony. She was in terrible shape and in a lot of pain. We think she may have had the lower part of her right hind leg caught in a trap and she managed to get herself loose but left her paw and a lot of skin behind. We transported her and rushed her right to our vet, and they immediately gave her pain meds and had to amputate her leg the next day. She was featured on ABC11 shortly after we rescued her. http://abc11.com/'|/fort-bragg-kitten-has-leg-amput'|/2558907/ She has recovered well, and doesn't really seem to mind that she only has three legs. Abacus runs around with all her kitten friends and plays and wrestles and has a great time. She is beautiful and is a real sweetheart who loves her people. 'Abby' gets along with other cats and kittens and ignores the gentle dogs in her foster home. She doesn't feel handicapped at all, and will make some lucky family a warm, loving companion.
