About Sammie Grace

Sammie Grace has a story that is heart breaking and resilient all at once. In August 2017, rescue was notified of a dog that had been hit by a car in Anderson, SC. Sammie needed out of the shelter in under 24 hours, and a network of amazing volunteers transported her to Wilmington NC. It was found she had a displaced hip, fractured pelvis (Sacroiliac luxation) and a fractured tibia. The best ting SG had going for her? Her age! SG is a 12# (she came in to rescue at 9.5#) Jack/Rat and roughly 3-4 years old. This gal is a fighter! With an amazing orthopedic surgeon on board, SG has blossomed in to a 'normal' pup, if you can call the breed normal! SG will run faster than you can walk and enjoys being outside exploring. She also enjoys to simply sleep. This gal could sleep her life away, on your lap, under the covers, as near to you as she can get. She is the sweetest thing, and other than a slight head tilt and a bionic anatomy that cannot go through a metal detector, SG has recuperated to find that forever family. She is VERY shy, and needs some time to warm up to you. Her past life was apparently not that great to her. She warms up to women faster than men. She would do best in a home where she can lounge on the couch, her bed, or the grass in the sunshine. She won't be going on long hikes or runs with you, but is the perfect pup for a low key home with lots of love and scratches to give. She will demand to be PET! Sammie Grace is pure diva and this beautiful pup cannot wait for her forever home! (her vet will be more than happy to discuss his procedures and her care with you!).
