About Oliver

Our sweet Oliver is ready for a forever family! Oliver appears to be a Silky Terrier. He's about 5 years old and weighs 8 lbs. He is neutered, current on all vaccinations, and has been heartworm- and fecal-tested (results negative). �%A0 Oliver came to Puppy Pals Rescue from a local shelter. They had taken him in as a stray. He was in need of a dental and received that on 12/4/17. He weighed only 6.7 lbs. when first evaluated at the shelter. He still seems skinny, so he may exceed 8 lbs. at a healthy weight. We have found it best to feed him first when feeding several dogs because he will start to gobble up the first bowl placed on the floor. Even though he dives into his meals, he patiently waits his turn when I am handing out treats. �%A0 Oliver has been a joy to foster. He is SO sweet and well behaved! Aside from some marking behavior, his house manners are very good (about 80% house trained). He is not a big barker and is not at all destructive. He's a good eater, doesn't take any medications or need a special diet. He is quiet all night and seems to prefer to sleep with his owner under the covers. �%A0 He enjoys going on walks and hasn't been reactive to people or other dogs. Oliver loves to explore and run in the backyard. He is fine riding in the car and has never gotten car sick. He has not shown much interest in toys, but he loves to sit in your lap or beside you on the couch. Oliver bonds quickly to his primary care-giver. He follows me (foster mom) around everywhere. I think this is due to insecurity. Oliver is not thrilled about being crated. We crate him when we are not home. On a couple occasions, he exhibited separation anxiety by tearing the corners of his blanket. But I think he would be OK with consistent use and being given a treat when he is put in his crate. �%A0 Oliver is very friendly with everyone. He loves attention from humans. He is on the submissive side and gets along well with other dogs. He is indifferent to cats.
