About Chrissy

Do you have a special place in your heart and home for senior animals? Beautiful grey-faced girl Chrissy sure has stolen our hearts! She came to us as a stray and is a 10-11 year old lab mix. There really is only one word to describe Chrissy. Sweetheart. She is a complete sweetheart. She is calm, gentle, and is so affectionate. Chrissy is a professional snuggle-bug! Other dogs don't seem to bother her at all. We think she could be introduced to other dog-friendly pooches. We also think she would be fine as the only dog. She has a bit too much interest in cats, though. Chrissy is a flexible and easy-going lady. Given that children in the home are respectful, we think she'd love their company. Chrissy has a few medical issues. Given her age, we are hoping to find her a home as soon as possible. Please don't let this deter you from meeting her or considering adopting her. Chrissy is so worth it and does not act her age at all. She has a large mass of unknown cause protruding from her vulva. Cytology indicates an infection is present so we are treating with an antibiotic first and foremost. She will need to be spayed and we will plan to have the mass removed at the same time. Without knowing the origin/cause of the mass we can not say if removing it will be curative. She is underweight and being fed accordingly to correct that. Her teeth and ears are in good shape. She does have a small mass in one of her mammary glands, further diagnostices would be required to know more, for now we are monitoring it for change in size, shape and color. Otherwise she seems to be in good shape. She is very food motivated and attentive! We continue to learn about this beautiful girl. When we know more information, we will update.
