About Dot

Adoption Fee: $200
Australian Cattle Dog mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Dot was rescued from the Riverside shelter, May of 2017. She was about 1 1/2 years old, Tiny Heeler mix about 25 lbs. She's in really good shape. But had never been on a leash, or possibly in a house. She pancaked (went flat) when taking her out on the leash. Was slow going. Dot was probably kept outdoors and is now learning how to be a happy indoor family dog. She was in a foster home since May, out of the noisy scary shelter. However, she was not furthered in foster care. Only 3 photos of her during that time. Dot is now in Paso Robles at CCHD Rescue headquarters. She goes out on leashed pack walks every day, learning a routine, extremely comforting for any dog. Dot now knows, when I get her leash, she is walking with me to the van, and hopping in on her own. When I open the tailgate, she waits for an invite to debark, and off we go. She loves the Dr. Seuss style clumps of grass, and grazes like the other dogs. She doesn't flinch when I stroke her and knows her name. She's basically been in a holding pattern since May, and on the road to normalization now. Dogs, cars, nature, leashes, routine. Dot will be fine and come up through the ranks here, or, with an adopter who has the patience and vision to keep her on the track we are on.
