Whenever a sweet and engaging King Charles Spaniel mix gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that dogs of this breed mix are very loving, really smart and make great family companions. They fit so well into a household and become a very devoted best friend to their family. Sometimes rescue dogs are initially a bit shy....but put them into a home with a loving family that provides frequent socialization, nurturing, love and belly rubs.. and they will shine. Katie is one of these pups...she's a blank slate that's just waiting for the commitment of a great family. Her love will know no bounds as she becomes a best friend and the greatest lap dog ever. Katie is such a great age and size... at just about 2 years old (such a great age - young enough to be open to new and wonderful possibilities in her life yet old enough to have left her babyish behavior behind) and weighs 9 lbs (perfect size to accompany her people anywhere a sweet and well-behaved pup is welcome). Katie is lucky enough to have inherited the intelligence of the King Charles along with the curiosity and loving nature of the Spaniel breeds. She is so excited and attentive when her people teach her the wonders of her world. If Katie is trained (group classes with a positive reinforcement trainer would be great...Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement trainers in your area), given tons of love, socialization with humans and other dogs...she will grow into a self-confident girl who will be a wonderful companion. Katie has all the elements working in her favor since she's starting out with a great temperament, a love of life and a puppyish desire to please. We'd like to place Katie in a home with either active retirees or a younger family who loves spending lots of time with a fuzzy and devoted family member. Katie is too sensitive a girl to be happy with her days spent alone...for this reason we would like a family that spends lots of time at home. Katie would also enjoy the company of a fun and respectful canine...she would love the playtime and companionship. Katie will love the trails and paths of Colorado (she's the perfect size to enjoy walks through her neighborhood socializing with her neighbors). Window-shopping would also be great to fine-tune her urban skills and provide the socialization that is so important in the development of a dog's abilities. With feelings of security within the family, Katie will learn the skills of being alone and knowing her family will aways return. Katie has a gorgeous coat that when healthy will be soft as cotton. She will require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her stunning coat cottony-soft and matt-free. We've requested that Katie be spayed prior to her transport to Colorado. We're hoping that this will occur. If it doesn't.. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Katie's spay and microchip if our Denver vet is used. Katie will be arriving on transport in Boulder in early January...we'll update exact day when information is finalized. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and devoted best friend and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested, please fill out and return to firstname.lastname@example.org or fax to 303-443-7730. If you're truly interested in adopting Katie, please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving puppy. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
