About Irma's Hope

Meet Irma's Hope! Hope is a snuggle-bug girl who is about four years old, 31 pounds, and Labrador Retriever Mix. Since her arrival to her new temporary home, she has settled in splendidly :) She is a very sweet, loving, lower energy pup that is looking for a lap to call her own. She loves to snuggle and is most at home with people. She is a tad shy on first meetings, but as soon as she knows you are there for her, she snuggles right in. OPH partnered with Old Town Pet Resort and Arlington Animal Hospital to assist 21 dogs who found themselves in the path of superstorm Hurricane Irma. Through the generosity of these two organizations, we were able to bring in these dogs and ensure they were out of harms way! Old Towne Pet Resort in Springfield graciously created a seamless transition for these pups from the shelter to their resort where the dogs are being cared for, evaluated, nurtured and prepared for their forever homes. Arlington Animal Hospital evaluated each and every dog and provided preventatives and medical attention for all noted ailments. OPH truly believes that 'It Takes a Village' to make a difference in the lives of shelter dogs. Through this Project Hurricane initiative, we have seen the best of our local business partners and could not be more proud to partner with them!
