Meet Henley! This smart and adorable, 14lb, 3 year old, Corgi/Dachshund mix arrived to OPH in early December, just in time to enjoy a Snow Day, as you can see here! Henley is a flirt and a charmer. He LOVES people and thinks anyone walking near should come and meet him! On a field trip to visit a senior care facility, Henley spent the whole time charming the residents and employees, cuddling in laps, giving kisses, and taking treats gently. But he's not just a sweet lapdog-Henley also likes to be active and on the go! He loves walks and exploring and is good on a leash, though he'll pull if he smells an interesting scent or tries to chase a squirrel or cat. He's been confident and friendly when meeting dogs of all sizes, but does respond if a dog gets aggressive. Henley does well in cars, though he's better seatbelted so he doesn't move around so much. He appears potty-trained, minus a few accidents while adjusting to his foster home; he'll be vocal when he needs to go potty, and would ring the bells on his foster's door, so he may be trained to go outside that way. It's taken time to get Henley used to his crate, as he'd whine for 5-10 minutes after, but he's getting better and sleeps through the night. As a note, Henley does have the Daschund prey drive, so he isn't recommended for homes with cats or pocket pets such as hamsters. Apply today to set up a meet and greet!
