About Treeter

Adoption Fee: $335
German Shepherd / Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

No one could be sweeter than our Treeter! Come meet this 2 year old, 45 lbs. Shepherd mix (possibly some Boxer and coonhound, too) with the most beautiful face and eyes. Treeter's motto is to live wholeheartedly. Bouncy, prancy, loyal, and joyful, Treeter absolutely loves her toys! There isn't a person she has met that doesn't receive her undying affection -- hugs, kisses and all! Treeter is potty trained, settles down to sleep in her crate, and has lovely house manners in her foster home - just give her a bed close to you and she snuggles down nicely. A sweet trick with her: just rub her chest and she'll fall asleep sitting next to you and loves to cuddle. She is calm most of the day, but does still need an outlet for her energy or it can get bottled up. She knows sit and stay (but easily 'forgets' around people she thinks might not know that she knows these things!) and is working on lie down and heel. Her exuberance and sense of loyalty make her suitable for adult households and those with children 13 or older. She might not always understand why she needs to share your attention. Treeter thrives in an environment where every member of the family can help reinforce boundaries, as she can be strong and determined if you allow her. Treeter would do well in a home that has structure and rules so she feels secure and knows the role she is to play. And preferably no little furry critters -- she really can't help chasing them. Not all dogs know what to do with her energy and she's not so sure she wants to share her food; so, if she has a canine roommate or visitors, it will take an adopter willing to work on slow, proper introductions over the first couple of weeks. She is current on all shots, spayed, microchipped, and fostered in Hanover, PA.
