About Oliver

EST DOB: 12/2016 Weight: 75lbs. Oliver is black and white with Hazel eyes and a curious black nose. At just over a year old, Oliver is still quite a puppy. He loves to play with other dogs and people, including children. He loves to chew his nylabones or antlers and can keep himself occupied with those for hours at a time. Oliver can run like the wind but doesn't have super high energy. In other words, Oliver can run or play off his energy and then is just as happy to chill out and snuggle. Oliver is very well mannered, house-trained and has good recall. He is very sensitive to correction and a simple 'ah, ah' is all he needs to stop him in his tracks. He is eager to learn and a pleaser. The only time Oliver gets distracted is when his nose gets a scent of something like a deer. Then watch out! He has leapt over a 4 foot fence in pursuit. Oliver needs a home preferably with another dog who is confident and the leader. He gets anxious when left alone for long periods of time. His human should be gentle and kind and experienced in positive reinforcement techniques. We feel Oliver would thrive in a home where his caregiver works from home or is retired. Oliver needs lots of attention and some serious exercise. Oliver will need an 8' fence or some type of fence modified to prevent him from jumping over. Oliver lives at a pet hotel and doggie day care and meets new dogs of all shapes and sizes each day and gets along with every one of them! Due to his size and a bit of prey drive, Oliver cannot be placed in a home with toy breeds or cats. He would do best with a medium to large sized doggy who likes to play, but knows when to take a break. A note from Oliver: Hey guys!!! My name is Oliver. I'm basically just a big, lovable, adorable goofball. Everyone sees how handsome I am, and how big I look, and how mellow I can be sometimes, and they think I'm all grown up. But really I'm just a kid! So, they tell me I still have some growing up to do. I like to play with toys, and dogs, and humans! I love to hike! I ride awesome in a car! I not real crazy about crates, but I'm comfortable in a large kennel space or maybe a gated room. Sometimes I get a little nervous about being left all by myself. I'm looking for someone special to love me for who I am. Maybe someone with another dog or two who knows a lot about dogs and helping them grow up.
