About Maddie

Adoption Fee: $550
Cairn mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Maddie & Freddie bonded pair. Carin terrier mix maybe. A shelter in CA reached out to us to help the bonded pair Maddie & Freddie who are both 3 years old, as the story goes the owner got sick & could not care for these beloved friends & the family did not want them so they were dumped at a kill shelter. Thank goodness the shelter reached out to us because these 2 loves had never seen a bath or groom before in their lives nor any type of medical care. Our lady picked them both up from the shelter & she said with the stench of them she had to drive with the windows down straight to our vets. We got poor Maddie & Freddie the works, dentals, spayed, neutered, chipped, shots, bathed & groomed & tested for heart worm & both are negative. These poor little buggers were clearly not this persons pride & joy because they are shy at first & need to warm up to you & are skinny & we are trying to fatten them both up. They do love to eat, will need work on training & are extremely bonded because it appears they were & still are each other's everything. Maddie who weighs 12.5 lbs & Freddie who weighs 15.1 lbs need to go to a home where the person is present during the day & is willing to work on trust training & love. We do not know how they are around cats but think it is best they go to a home with no children present. They also must stay together & we will not separate them. Maddie & Freddie have an adoption fee of $550 each ($1100 for both). ____________________________ **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well. As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves. Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet can be scheduled. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Adoption Process All of our dogs are in foster homes, so please fill out an application on our website to meet them in person: www.aberdeenstr.com. Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a 501(c)3 recognized charity. Our volunteers dedicate all their free hours to finding the best loving home for each of our dogs.
