YES, I'M AVAILABLE! Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!**** Rudolph 2 years old Yorkshire terrier This is the extremely sad tail of Rudolph the 3 year old male Yorkshire terrier, he was scheduled to be put to sleep & if we did not commit to him he was going to be pts. Rudolph had been mauled severely by another dog & the shelter stated he had puncture wounds & abscesses on his body & cheeks that needed immediate medical attention so we of course said yes. We got Rudolph to our vets & got him immediate medical attention & it was discovered with 2 x-rays that he had been mauled & had bite marks all over his tiny little body which showed up as air bubbles everywhere from the puncture wounds. So Rudolph had to be bandaged up & given antibiotics & given some time to recover even though his wounds actually were old. Rudolph is now neutered, up to date on his shots, heart worm negative, chipped & still has to wear his bandages for a little while longer. What we have discovered about Rudolph is he is absolutely adorable & was a very spoilt little fellow, he would cry to sleep in the bed with the foster mum, he had absolutely no doggy manners whatsoever & will need work on training & house training & did hate crates. But his new foster mum in WA did teach him with his doggy manners & did teach him that a crate is just fine to travel in. We did believe originally he should be an only dog because he has no boundaries but with the help & work of his foster mum she also helped turn that around. He should not go to a home with children but we do not know how he is around cats. He has the personality & energy of a cheeky little dog who is extremely lovable & needs work. Poor Rudolph sadly will be coming back into the rescue as his new family who adopted him have had a health situation arise & they are completely devastated & so broken about returning Rudolph to the rescue but they physically will not be able to care for this little man so he will be looking for a new forever home once again. Rudolph can only go to a home where the people are present all day & willing to work with him. Rudolph has an adoption fee of $600. __________________________ **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well. As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves. Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog. We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet and greet can be scheduled. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
