Arnold is a double merle Australian Shepherd. He is approximately 4 years old. He is deaf, but is a better 'listener' than our other two hearing shepherds. We have taught him all the basic commands, but continue to work with him on learning other tricks. He was fetching quite well until he learned that keep away was more fun to play. He is very smart and catches on quick. Arnold is as sweet as he is good looking. At first Arnold became a little skittish when we would pet him around his head, but now he no longer thinks twice about it. He is very good at giving kisses and loves to give them. He loves being by his human companion(s) and will follow you around just to sit by your side. He can get a little whiny when he isn't getting love, but who wouldn't want to love this guy. Unfortunately, and with great regret we cannot keep this amazing dog. Based on our own evaluations within the home and the evaluation of a trainer it is best that Arnold be an only pet. Arnold is walked daily at a park where he encounters other dogs, but Arnold does fine in these situations. I cannot express how much Arnold loves his walks. Due to Arnold's hearing impairment, he can only go to a home with a completely fenced in yard. It is also best that Arnold be in a home where the children if any are older. Please let me know if you have any questions and if you are interested in Arnold possibly becoming a part of your family.
