About Spunky

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise ID Spunky is a 4 year old Standard Dachshund (possibly a mix) who came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when his family could no longer care for him. This boy has been extremely over-fed for years; lots of people food and junk dog food; never taken for a walk and so just like us humans he has become obese. Spunky is about 15 pounds overweight but has been put on a diet and an exercise program and has already lost some pounds while in rescue. Luckily Spunky lives up to his name and loves walks, he is always happy to go out and about with you and is currently walking a mile at a time. While on walks he barks at loud cars going down the street and can be a little leash reactive with new dogs. But with a little more work he will get used to other dogs and loud cars and this shouldn't be an issue. He is currently living in foster with three other dogs and had a doggy friend back at his house and does great with all dogs; the only thing you have to watch out for is he will defend his right to his bone with teeth. He is pretty good in crate. He even goes to it when you say crate. He barks at loud noises and likes to chase the squirrels in the back yard like most small dogs. If you want a walking buddy and someone to cuddle on the couch with (you have to help him up right now) then Spunky might just be your boy. Super sweet and social he will make someone a great companion.
