AWESOME news on Mr. Scooter - he had his re-check on his foot today and Dr. Rachael cleared him to be adopted. The picture shows how grateful he is to Dr. Rachael for never giving up and saving his leg. This baby - since December - has been fighting an infection in his right rear foot. Several rounds and different antibiotics were done - he has had several cultures of the foot done - he had a partial amputation of his foot done - then a second surgery on the foot when the infection reoccurred. He has undergone having the foot drained, cold laser treatment, numerous shots of antibiotics, living in a cone for months. After the last round of partial removal of more of his foot he got lucky with a foster mom who took such wonderful care of him and started working on manners - he is so proud of himself when he sits or chases a toy and brings it back and drops it at your feet. he loves to ride in the car and he loves Dr. Rachael (actually he loves anyone who will give him attention). When he started to use his right rear leg he had to endure raw and bleeding pads since he had never used the foot before. That was always a concern that his pad may also get infected. Dr. Rachael says he has very little tone loss in that leg and she believes it will catch up with the left leg quickly. His shots are current, he is neutered, his micro-chip is inserted and this beautiful baby is NOW ready for his forever home. A HUGE thank you to all of you who helped cover his thousands in medical expenses, to Dr. Rachael and Dr. Matt for all of the work they put in to save his leg and to his foster mom who worked tirelessly with him and loved him to pieces and to Brenda here at the shelter who tended to his wounds tirelessly. Someone will be very lucky when they adopt this beautiful boy.
