About Noel

My name is Noel and I am from Las Cruces, New Mexico. My owner took me to jail when I was sick and pregnant along with my brother. We were both very sick but the rescue saved us. We were treated for internal parasites and cleaned up. The rescue thought I was healthy but my foster mom noticed I was leaking a dark fluid and rushed me to the ER. They did Xrays and ultrasounds and said I had two dead puppies inside me. They rushed me into an emergency c section because the decaying puppies were killing me. I thought that was the worst of it but then, from surgical complications, I became anemic and they couldn't figure out why. They gave me a blood transfusion and that didn't work and I was still so sick. They had to do surgery a second time but that one fixed me right up. They say I was touch and go for about a week but I am all better now and happy that is behind me. I thought I was getting a forever home with my brother but that didn't happen because someone adopted him because they already had another female Akita. Now I am jealous and waiting for a forever home of my own. I'm really the more awesome of the two of us - I am loaded with personality! I am bubbly and my enthusiasm for life is infectious so if you want to be happy all of the time, please adopt me because I know the key to life is to enjoy every single minute! I am fun fun fun and love everyone, everyone human that is! With dogs I am more selective, I like to be the boss because I am large and in charge! IF you have a laid back male who will let me boss him around, I will test him out but I am really more than enough Akita for you, I promise! I also learn really fast. When I was rescued, I had lived in a back yard with little to no interaction but I learned potty training, crate training, and how to sit super fast. I learned some about walking on a leash but I still get super excited and want to pull sometimes so the rescue says I need gentle leader and harness with a chest clasp for the leash. They know all of my tricks to make me behave unfortunately. AARTA says I am a really nice representation of the breed. I think that's their way of calling me pretty which of course I am! They also say you will be instantly enthralled with my beauty... but spend a bit of time with me and you will see that I am outgoing and affectionate and loving.
