About Bindi

Adoption Fee: $50
Australian Cattle Dog / Australian Shepherd
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

My Aunt has had a female Australian Shepherd/ Cattle Dog Mix since she was a puppy. We have had her the past 4 months, since August. She would do well in a home without any children or other dogs. She has very high anxiety and tends to be aggressive because of this. She's up to date on all of her shots as well as being fixed (medical records can be provided). Best in a home without a ton of visitors in and out. She tends to get anxious around other dogs and children, causing her to chase her own tail and bite it until it its bloody. We've tried medication and multiple vet visits. She's a loyal dog to her owners for the most part, we feel awful for re-homing her again. She's very loyal and once she warms up to people she's very protective. She does bark when people come to the door- and if she knows you she stops barking, if she doesn't know you, she'll keep barking and stand in front of whoever she DOES know like she's protecting them. If a stranger tries to pet her, there is a very good change she will try to nip at them (personally I didn't mind that-she's a great guard dog, and I wouldn't want someone to touch me if I didn't know them either lol). She also does not like 'roughhousing' if you will. So if she's loyal to you and thinks someone is hurting you, she will bark relentlessly at them until they leave you alone. I'm just trying to be as clear as I possibly can about her personality. I don't want anyone to think that she's a cute puppy who snuggles all day and is friendly with everyone. She'll be 6 in February and is very set in her ways. We've tried training and she goes to the vet regularly. I have a young child and other dogs at home and she really doesn't get along with one of our older dogs. We think a peaceful house with mild activity would be best for her. Because of her anxiety/aggression issues we don't want her bouncing from home to home any longer. We just want her to go to a loving home that won't peak her anxiety on a daily basis. I just want to be clear that she can be aggressive. There's just not another option for us with 3 other dogs in the house and a toddler. Thank you.
