About Reindeer

Domestic Cat
Age: Young Kitten
Sex: Male

Reindeer is the grey tabby kitten with blue eyes pictured in the photo with his family. Reindeer is approximately 4 months old, and he was born on the streets of Los Angeles, to his mommy cat, who is also pictured in the photo to Reindeer's left. Reindeer spent the first 3 months of his life eeking out an existence with his loving family of four and cousin (another young kitten), living under an apartment building, and coming out each night to hunt for food and play with his siblings. I first noticed Reindeer and his mom (Mrs. Claws), and siblings, Snowman, and Magic, when they were only a few days old- and as soon as they were weaned, I began regularly feeding the kittens and their mother, so they would have the best chance of survival. Each night I would feed the feral family high quality canned and dry food, and chopped meats and veggies, as I waited for them to grow large enough that I could trap them and take them to a low cost clinic for spaying and neutering. A few weeks ago, I finally trapped the whole family of cats- and their cousin- another small kitten- and took them to a clinic in LA where they were spayed/neutered, vaccinated against Rabies and FVRCP, and dewormed. Reindeer quickly recovered from his neutering surgery and has since been living in the back house at my mother's place, with the rest of his family. Even though Reindeer was raised a feral cat, he is not aggressive and he is totally non-destructive. He won't even scratch on the scratching post I gave him, and he uses his litter box, and is extremely well behaved. He is shy around people and a bit fearful, so he hides under the bed a lot- but he is not aggressive and he is curious about people and very very grateful for the love, shelter and food we have provided him with. The biggest source of joy and pride in Reindeer's life is his family. He loves his siblings more than anything, and he's always calm and happy as long as he has one of his siblings nearby to cuddle with, explore with and play with. He is an amazing survivor and all he wants out of life is to find a forever home where he and one of his siblings can spend their days being looked after- and he has so much love to give in return. I often pet him and he is so soft- and he has the docile personality of a little bunny rabbit. Sadly, if we cannot find homes for Reindeer and his family members, they will eventually have to be released back out on to the streets where they will face a difficult existence as feral cats again. I truly hope we can find homes for these little ones, because they are kind, gentle, docile and deserving of care and affection. If you would like to meet them, they are in West LA (90064 zip code area) of Cheviot Hills, Los Angeles, CA. My number is (323) 422-7267. Feel free to text or call me, Stacy Bright.
