About CASPER

SAY HELLO TO CASPER! Casper is an adorable 11 year old purebred Shih Tzu Senior boy. Casper was an owner requested euthanasia at Pima Animal Care Center, however those that met him knew this gentle soul deserved better than what his prior owners were so heartlessly requesting. HOPE pulled Casper from PACC. When he arrived at PACC, he was matted on the face and body, with overgrown nails and severe otitis (ear infection which was so painful that he had to be sedated for his ear exam/cleaning. It was reported that he was blind. HOPE took him to a veterinary ophthalmologist who confirmed that he was 'mostly blind' ~ he can see shadows! It was also determined that he is hard of hearing (probably as a result of the otitis) and can hear you if you speak loud enough. Despite having hearing and vision issues, Casper seems to have no trouble navigating the shelter and the outdoors. He is as delightful as he is adorable! Casper is a real charming fellow! So much so that he is presently the Lobby Dog greeting everyone he meets coming through the doors at the shelter. He does awesome with people, dogs of all sizes and cats. He is happiest when he has a companion-human or animal. He loves treats, especially peanut-butter filled 'kongs'.�%A0He also loves laying in the sun in our courtyard and enjoys his walks on the leash and does amazingly well at keeping up and going the distance considering his age! Casper certainly has a ton of personality and is well-known and liked by staff, volunteers and visitors. Casper is Veterinarian checked, vaccinated and neutered. Won't you consider this precious boy as the perfect addition to your family and give to him the loving and secure life he deserves? You will not regret it!
